Research Background
In the recent years, international phenomena like Globalisation, liberalisation of different economies as well as development of global business scenarios increasing number of businesses have been venturing in newer domains (both in terms of geographic locations as well as in terms of inclusion newer products) and exploring new opportunities. All these facts have contributed in increasing the dynamics as well as complexities in the business frameworks of almost industries across the globe (Shenkar, Lu and Chi, 2014).
Much of this has been considerably facilitated by the continuous development in the technological and infrastructural framework in the overall global framework, which have considerable influences on all the operational activities of the businesses, including that of the accounting and financial reporting aspects of the organizations, which is one of the most crucial components of business as it helps the companies to assess their assets, liabilities, risks, returns, profits and other financial aspects (Drucker, 2014). A proper accounting framework is required for increasing the company’s profitability, prospects, sustainability and long-run competitiveness.
However, the development of technology and its implementations have brought not only positive but also negative implications for the businesses, especially in the domains of their financial activities. With the increasing digitalization of accounting and financial practices in businesses, the instances of accounting frauds and unfair activities have also become more frequent, most of which can be seen to be done using the online interfaces (Bhasin, 2015). The commercial sector of Australia has been witnessing these types of fraudulent activities in the recent time, which have considerably affected the welfare of the companies as well as the economy as a whole. In this aspect, the notion of forensic accounting has been gaining increasing importance in the global business scenario.
Research Problem
Forensic Accounting, as discussed above, is an integration of the accounting principles with the various technical aspects so as to investigate and detect any kind of suspicious accounting and financial activities in the businesses, which can be detrimental to the stakeholders of the concerned businesses (Dorminey, et al., 2015). With the increasing complexities in businesses and a simultaneously increasing number of accounting frauds in the contemporary global business framework into consideration, the research aims to study the implications which implementation of forensic accounting frameworks in operations of the businesses can have on the profitability, safety and sustainability of the same (Popoola, Che-Ahmad and Samsudin, 2014). The research aims to focus on the problems of accounting frauds which the business scenario of Australia has been facing in the contemporary period and tries to analyse whether the implementation a developed and robust forensic accounting framework can help in reducing the concerned problem.
Research questions
The primary question which the study aims to explore is:
What are the importances of implementation of forensic accounting framework in business scenarios in Australia?
The secondary questions for the concerned research are:
What are the roles of forensic accounting in businesses?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of development and implementation of forensic accounting frameworks in the businesses in Australia?

For the purpose of collection of quantitative data, respondents, primarily including accounting professionals in different companies in Australia, will be interviewed with the help of survey questionnaires and for the purpose of qualitative data, in-depth interviews with mainly open-ended questions will be conducted (Fowler Jr, 2013).
