Balance Scorecard approach
This is a technique used in business process management by organizations to communicate their goals, aligning daily activities with the company’s strategy and prioritizing projects or products within an organization (Esbenshade, Vidal, Fascilla, G. and Ono, 2016, p.79). In most cases, organizations carry out their daily activities without aligning with their corporate strategies. This makes it hard for them to accomplish their goals. Knowing more about the balance score approach when it comes to business process management helps in understanding how organizations create harmony in their operation in relation to their goals. This is because this is something some organizations fail to practice.
Matrix management approach
Organizations are made up of different departments. These departments do work separately to accomplish the goals of the organization. However, through Matrix management model different departments within the organizations can be brought together and work towards accomplishing specific goals that have been set (Esbenshade, Vidal, Fascilla, G. and Ono, 2016, p.89). The reason why this item was relevant to the topic is that it provides an opportunity to understand how organizations work towards achieving their goals. Additionally, it also provides an opportunity of how unity can be cultured within an organization to achieve specific goals that will lead to the success of the entire organization.
PMI Project Management Maturity Model
This is a model used by the organization to determine how projects, programs, and portfolio are being delivered (Rosemann and vom Brocke 2015, p.110). As an illustration, organizations are either made up of functional or process units. Delivery of projects will either follow a certain process or follow a certain chain of command. This means that when a business is engaging in any project, it will reflect upon the strategies and the goals of the organization. This process was selected to help understand the steps being followed when delivering a project once it has been approved by top management (Bhandarkar and Dewey, Grand Central Communications Inc, 2017). This model will also help in understanding how projects are being managed as part of business process management.
Supply Chain Council’s (SCC) SCOR business framework
This is a framework that supports communication between supply chain partners with an objective of enhancing the effectiveness of the supply chain management process. Adoption of such a business process management model will help organizations in different ways (Leopold and Thom 2017, p.88). The reason why this was selected is to determine the significance that the supply chain has in the business process. It was also appropriate to the topic since it will help in the identification of its importance towards organizational performances once it has been implemented.
Leading and lagging indicators
These are performance indicators that managers use to make decisions. The leading indicators show the situations that are related to the outcome of the desired result whereas lagging indicators shows the situations which can’t be changed (Klun and Trkman 2018, p.799). With the current changes in the market, managers are required to make decisions to suit the needs of their target market. The main reason I selected this topic was to identify and learn different ways in which a manager can reach a decision that will change the way a business carries out its activities. Additionally, I was able to identify the process of generating ideas to the presentation stage.
