Introduction
Human body experiences certain changes according to the age. These changes are structural, physiological, social and cognitive stages. Taking reference of proper sources help in attaining personal growth and development (Beckett and Taylor 2016). This assignment, through the reference of Jeffrey, provides an insight into the bodily changes, which affects the growth and development of the individuals.
Discussion
Changes
Living in a two bedroom unit, the outdoor area of the public school in Ringwood is definitely a change for Jeffrey. Jeffrey’s parents are keen for socializing their child with the other children of his age. Taking out to the park reflects the lack of physical exercise, which might aggravate the health complexities. Moore (2017) opines that in such a context, his growth and development would not be in a proper form. Jeffrey’s parents are physical education teachers, concerned about the physical activities of climbing, running and jumping for Jeffrey and his brother. These activities would increase Jeffrey’s height. However, consistency needs to be maintained.
Playing with other children of his age would diversify the thought processes of Jeffrey. This is indicative of maturity, which would help him to attain mental growth. Here, one of the evident issue is conflicts, which can deviate them from getting proper guidance on the correct methods of throwing, catching and kicking the ball. On the other hand, Hoorn et al. (2014) thinks that at this stage, Jeffrey’s parents need to provide proper coaching and guidance. If they start physical education classes, they would contribute in the physical growth and development of the children like Jeffrey and Toby. This aspect relates with socialization, which enhances cultural diversity.
Feedback would help the physical instructors to provide training according to the needs of the children. Within this, health records of the children is crucial in terms of averting unwanted issues. According to the records, it has been found that Jeffrey seemed immature than the other team mates. He failed to tackle the blow of the bigger boys. However, Goodman (2014), is of the view that this is due to the improper training, which stalled the process of physical growth and development. The X-Ray result depicts a broken arm, which compels Jeffrey to fear playing rugby in future. This is a psychological aspect, where guidance and support from the parents is beneficial in terms of driving the thought process in the right direction.
Affectation of changes on growth and development
Indulging in physical activities like climbing and jumping in an open space enhances the awareness of children like Jeffrey. Receiving proper training from the instructors and coaches prove beneficial in terms of leading a fit and healthy lifestyle (Singer 2017). Along with this, eating a balanced diet is necessary for keeping the body weight in control. Jeffrey’s parents want him to take him for playing. This is indicative of lack of physical exercise, which contradicts the aspect of fit and healthy for children like Jeffrey and his brother Toby.
Learning the sports basics from the instructors and the parents with the other children reflects the conglomeration of different cultures. At this stage, the children are very possessive about their personal things. If they are not familiar with the person, they will not take training. Therefore, if the instructors scold the children on certain reason, it deeply affects the psychology of the children. In such a scenario, they suffer from depression, where they seclude themselves from the social events (Petersen 2017).
Specific exercises indicated for the client
As Jeffrey is in a developing stage, therefore, he needs proper coaching and development. This can be either from the parents or from the instructors. If he is provided with extra coaching classes during the morning recess, he would gain a deeper insight into the basics of throwing, catching and picking the ball. However, as he is afraid of playing rugby, he first needs to be counselled. In this, consideration of X-Ray report is crucial for averting any unwanted and illegal instance. Moreover, whichever step is undertaken, Jeffrey’s parents need to be informed, so that they are updated about the wellbeing of their children.
In the process of counselling, Ethical Code of Conduct needs to be adhered for securing the individual interest of children like Jeffrey. Conscious approach needs to be exposed in terms of dealing with the children, as they are very sensitive. One wrong step can lead to negative results.
Conclusion
Children like Jeffrey needs to be trained and guided for exposing proper approach towards attaining personal growth and development. This includes developing appropriate policies for training the children. Taking the assistance of the psychologists is effective in terms of maintaining the security, privacy and confidentiality of the personal sentiments.
