Question

The issue which I selected is global warming.
Svante Arrhenius was a Swedish scientist. He was the first person who asserted that fossil fuel combustion may finally result in elevated global warming or climate change. He registered the relation between carbon dioxide which is present in atmosphere and temperature. Climate change or global warming can be the result of natural events such as volcanic eruptions.
Thomas Chamberlin who worked with Arrhenius, they noted that the activities of human or which are done by the human could warm the globe by adding carbon dioxide to the air. During the period of their discoveries, people thought that the atmosphere is less affected by human activities as compared to natural forces (solar activity, ocean circulation etc.). Increase in the quantity of carbon dioxide resulted in the absorption of infrared radiation (IR). It is the region of electromagnetic radiation and the wavelength is 700nm to 1mm. Research showed that the ocean could only consume the one-third of anthropogenic carbon dioxide. The National government organization (NGO) recommends global habitat protection to avoid global warming. The press was very interested to learn some points on global warming. It was repeated on a global scale as it happened globally.
World health organization (WHO) organized many details on environmental condition from 1990. There were many endanger which were noted. The health impacts of climate change are very enormous. Example- malaria, diarrhea and, poor protein-energy causes more than 3 million deaths every year and many of the forecast impacts on health are stoppable. IPCC which is termed as an intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) is referred to as the most extensive peer-reviewed scientific collaboration expect and it was founded by united nations environmental programmers and the world meteorological organization. The research includes climatology, ecology, economics, mediums, oceanography.
Stakeholder participation is an essential constituent of the Mid-Atlantic regional assessment (MARA) of the feasible aftereffect of global warming or climate change. The team of MARA research gave full awareness towards the collaborator who was affected by this issue. (e.g. – communities vulnerable to sea level rise), researchers whose work is somewhat similar to global warming and to groups that have expressed an interest in the issue. Stakeholders involve in the issue and their primary motive is to ensure that the geographical evaluation and to amplify the practical quality of the assessment.
It is the most consequences provocation to achieving sustainable development. in 2008, the effect on Russia- Roshydromet found that winter temperature had increased by 2-3 degree Celsius in Siberia over the previous 120-150 years. On the other hand, global temperature rises about 0.7 degree Celsius during the same period of time. Russia has made astonishing advancement since 2005 in reducing the flicker of gas from oil production. It is located in that region where black carbon reaches the arctic snow and ice cap. It increases the 25-30% costs of development in the penniless countries. For developed countries, the annual cost is $1.2 trillion to 1.5 trillion.
There are different possibilities of professions which are connected by this issue:

Atmospheric scientists and meteorologists: They are corresponded with producing climate forecasts.
Environmental engineers: The work to find the method to prevent the damage related to the territory.
Environmental scientists and specialists: They focus on the methods by which the pollution can lessen and upgrade the condition of the environment.
Legislators: They work to pass the rules and regulations. If they want to change the rules for the research of environmental issues then they can change and set up the rules in their own way.

Answer
Global Warming
Introduction

Global warming is the increase in global temperature due to climatic changes affected by environmental degradation.
Global warming is mainly caused by combustion of fossil fuels due to the amount of carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere (Herweijer, Ranger & Ward, 2009).
This is shown by Argo measurements which indicate that 93% of global warming is caused by carbon fuel combustion.
This means that the effect of carbon dioxide on the atmosphere is greater than what has been reported in previous years.
Strategies to combat global warming led to the UN setting the global environmental agenda of limiting carbon dioxide effects by 2030.
Despite several summits that have been held by the UN 58 countries made carbon emissions slashing commitment in the Paris climate agreement (Gabbatiss, 2018).
However, only sixteen countries have complied today.
This calls for strategies like green transport, renewable energy and sustainable agriculture.

Risks of global warming

Unpredictable weather.
For example changes in rainfall and drought patterns.
Challenges in crop production thus increased food shortage.
Increased costs for combating global warming (Gabbatiss, 2018).
The need to switch to new greener resources that are more expensive.

The cost of switching to cleaner greener energy patterns.

Increased taxes to fund carbon reduction policies and strategies.

Business losses from carbon tax and unsustainability of greener energies (Pappas, 2018).

Increased product prices due to the risk of producing with greener energies.

Effects of environmental changes like increased radiation on human bodies.

Opportunities of global warming

Business opportunities for developing greener energies solutions.
Incentives from government like the carbon incentive.
New business opportunities that develop solely to focus on global warming.
New job opportunities are coming up in the environmental management field.
The development of sustainable greener energies.

Potential roles for sustainability professionals

Championing the green approach and the need for people to reduce the amount of carbon they emit.
Targeting individual or household carbon reduction through initiatives that are easy to apply (Cohen 2018).
Developing political goodwill for addressing climate change related policies.
Working with different agencies to achieve the required carbon reduction.
Educating the public on skills for effective population-based interventions.
Develop appropriate emergency preparedness mechanism for global warming effects like flooding and droughts(Cohen, 2018).
Promoting government and international policies on global warming.
Integrating climate change into the curriculum to increase individual sustainability (Cohen, 2018).
Forming or developing relevant committees or commissions within the state to work on global warming issues.
Educating the public on the meaning of global warming and the role that they can play to mitigate the problem.
Carrying out research and proper reporting of the state of global warming to inform the public on what is happening.
Improve surveillance by developing systems for accurate reporting on the changes in global warming and climate.
Global warming is a reality that every profession and individuals needs to understand.
Governments must implement the Paris Agreement objectives to address global warming issues.
The sustainability professional is a new career coming up to address the needs of the environment.
Organizations, individuals and households must take the green approach to reduce the global increase in temperature witnessed in the 12st century.
