Introduction:
Based in the readings provided for this module, the key elements that are supposed to be considered when developing HR policy are pegged on the need to come up with policies that are specific to a particular type of organization. Therefore HR requires to development of policy, making of the draft, procedures development, brainstorming the policy, accepting the policy, implementation process and informing the employees about necessary changes.
Trends impacting HR
I have learned about of several trends that impact HR policy. Among the common trends include the need for HR policy to be social, instant feedback, work has shifted from office, specialty is encouraged in the workplace and big data plays a significant role.
Implementing HR policy
According to Michael Armstrong and Stephen Taylor, implementing HR policy plays a significant role and considers ways to implement and communicate the policies, provides employee handbook that contains organizational policies and procures among other details relating to policy training session, communication of updates through email and shared devices. Moreover, the organization takes into consideration policy and procedures manual (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014).
Diversity
Based on Human resource strategy by Michal, Peter and llan, implementing diversity is challenging but can be achieved through involving all management team, adopt the organization structure, communicating about the initiatives continuously, developing a formal project plan and modify all initiative to include diversity (Bamberger et al., 2014).
Global HR policy
Apple Company HR policy on diversity indicates that it employs people without discrimination with respect to ethnicity among other forms of prejudice. As a result the company employs people from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the success and growth of the company.
