The treaty of Waitangi is the only treaty of New Zealand, which has been signed between the Maori chief and British Crown as a covenant in 1840. The primary reason why this treaty had been signed was that the British crown has the intention of New Zealand other powerful countries take over. The treaty is significant to the business practices of the Maori because it protects the rights of the Maori via providing recognition of the ownership of land to the Maori. The organization strives to return the early cash funds to TeRunanga through Ngai Tahu’s charitable trust for enhancing the cultural, social and environmental initiatives of the organization. In this way, respect of the treaty of Waitangi can be maintained along with the development of the society. The charitable trust can help in improving the environmental factors of the company.

The collection of the qualitative data is gathered by analysing the experiences of the stakeholders, community members and the internal managers of Ngai Tahu Holdings. Topics such as social initiatives and impact of external forces were discussed. These factors help in shaping the business functions and influence the results of the research significantly.

The responses provided by the interviewees’ determine the impact of the external factors such as political, social and technological aspects. In an organisation like Ngai Tahu Holdings Pvt Ltd, the stakeholders play an important role in the success of the company and likewise, the contribution of the people within the society can be easily managed. The questionnaire and the interview of the employees associated with the company suggest that the people protect the interests of the people that undertake cultural and social initiatives for the development of a society. The examples that exist denote the importance of the treaty in a business and the strategic manner in which it can be implemented provides an idea about the Government policies that exist in the country.
Ngai Tahu Holdings Pvt Ltd strives that it makes progress while trying to cope up with the cultural, social and environmental issues that exist in the market. The growth and expansion of the organisation is one of the focuses and due to this, future generations of the country can be inspired to undertake the safeguarding of the treaty. The existence of focused campaigns, have led to the investment for the success of the organisation. The impact of the external environment such as social and technological may have a negativity in the organisation. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the impact and at the same time ensure that mitigation techniques are used so that Ngai Tahu Holdings Pvt Ltd can serve its purpose of expansion and growth in the New Zealand market.
